Tommy Mitchell Driggers Sr.

Tommy Mitchell "Mitch" Driggers, Sr. Turbeville - Mitch Driggers, age 61, died April 12, 2018 in a Sumter hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday April 16, 2018 at Horse Branch FWB Church in Turbeville with burial in the church cemetery directed by Floyd Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Born in Florence County, he was a son of Mrs. Virginia Welch Driggers and the late Hubert Lindbergh Driggers. Mitch was a Service Manager for Thomlinson McWhite Gas and Oil Company, a member of Horse Branch FWB Church, a Mason and member of Fidelity Lodge #394, and was a member of Turbeville Team Trail Bass Fishing Club. Surviving besides his mother of Turbeville, are his wife, Elaine Brewer Driggers of Turbeville; two daughters, Brandi (Michael) Baker of Cades, and Jenny (John) Quick of Cheraw; a son, "Little Mitch" (Dee) Driggers of Olanta; three sisters, Cindy (Terry) Blackmon of New Zion, Betty Lou (Lanny) Springs of Turbeville, and Judy (Andy) Hall of Olanta; a brother, Lynn (Marlene) Driggers of Turbeville; Maternal Grandmother, Louise Welch of Olanta; grandchildren, Mellie Driggers, Gracie Driggers, Colten Baker, Larson Baker, Ansleigh Baker, Wendy Quick and Logan Quick. The family would like to thank the staff of Palmetto Health Tuomey ICU/CCU for their attentive medical care provided to Daddy during his time there. We are extremely grateful for your compassion to us during this difficult time. Also, thanks to Dr. Mo, Dr. Udoh, Dr. Floyd, and especially Dr. Steven Lauzon, for their expertise and care.
